CCB Sichuan Building is located in Jinrong (Finance) Street of the downtown, the meeting point of Tidu Street and Tongxun Street—Taishengnanlu Road. 

The mobile phone market in Taishengnanlu Road has been formed of itself as well as the special historical reasons.

    Before 1997, former department of posts and telecommunications monopolized mobile sale business, and then, some distributors acted as “go-betweens” were gathered around the former posts and telecommunications business halls doing mobile business and eventually the original Tongxun (in Chinese, it means telecommunication) Street has come into existence. With the release of mobile phone retail business after 1998, a large number of mobile retail stores of public property or private property, large-sized and small-sized have been emerged in Taishengnanlu Road. In the subsequent two or three years, relying on the increasing market with high speed, some distributors grew up rapidly who soon after became rich as multimillionaires or even billionaires, meanwhile, Taishengnanlu Road has been also brought it into its golden ages with its status establishing as “The First Telecommunication Market in Western China” 

    Looking back its track of development, it is the same with that of other market of merchandise; namely, there is certain governmental monopolizing business unit somewhere at the beginning, then, the weak businessmen begin doing their business in the streets at where such state monopolizing unit is, and step by step, it gradually grows bigger and bigger with the final result of the existence of one commodity dominate market. For instance, owing to a large number of scientific and technological institutions in Moziqiao Street, soon after it has been developed a street as computer market. The stamp market in Shumo Street also has been developed owing to the previous existence of Bureau of Posts and Telecommunications. 

    Honestly to say, the mobile market in Taishengnanlu Road has not been originally involved in the governmental programming. 

    Business stores converging, businessmen gathering 

    The mobile market in Taishengnanlu Road showed its flourishing vitality as long as its initial existence. For years, businessmen have been active to live in making this tiny spot with vast contents as the No. 1 important telecommunication market in the area of Chengdu as well as even in western China. 

     There are a large number of large-scale business stores converging in Taishengnanlu Road. The reporter has seen that there are over 10 business stores with respectively 2000-6000 square meters store area such as Xunqie, the Great Wall, Taili, Shudu, Jinyang, Chaoqiang and Century Taisheng gathering in Taishengnanlu Road of no more than 1 kilometers. There are over one hundred small business stores with about 10 square meters store area making use of every bit of space in this street. It has been full with so many businessmen and stores.

     Nearly mobile phones of all models can be bought in Taishengnanlu Road, over 70% of total mobile phone sales volume has been produced in this street, and 90% of them has been accomplished in the large-scale stores. 

    It is investigated that the average monthly retail volume of mobile phone in Taishengnanlu Road exceeds 50,000 units, and the mobile phone distribution volume (wholesale and retail) of each month is as high as 250,000-300,000 units. The monthly amount of sales of mobile phone in Taishengnanlu Road is about RMB 400 million and RMB 5 billion of yearly amount of sales based on the calculation of RMB 1,500 for per unit of mobile phone. In addition, Taishengnanlu Road is a key spot of network marketing, for most of mobile phone cards in the urban area of Chengdu have been distributed from Taishengnanlu Road. 

     Obviously, Taishengnanlu Road has been developed as the center of materials circulation, management and fund circulation of the terminal telecommunication market in Sichuan Province and even in the southwestern area of China. 

    With the implementation of the programming by Chengdu Municipal People’s Government and the development of CBD Business District, Tidu Street will be a golden place owing to its superior location and excellent commercial surroundings. Some financial giants such as China Construction Bank Sichuan Branch, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Sichuan Branch, China Industrial Bank Chengdu Branch, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank Chengdu Branch, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, International Finance Corporation-China Project Development Center（IFC-CPDF）, Asia Security Sino-Foreign Investment Group have been settled down here, who have made great contributions to the economic development of Sichuan Province.
